SHOPPING

Bees: We were shopping today (Marie, Kathy, Krissy, Ann and me). We had a great time talking about our host families. Got some problems fixed. We ate some ice cream and we all bought a bottle of sparkling water ;). The weather was good today though not as warm as I´d hoped it would be. I´m looking forward to my first day at school tomorrow.

Bees: Today I got my school uniform. It looks awful though Maggie said it was a good one. We even have to carry the same bags! That´s weird, isn´t it? I met Krissy at St Hilda´s. Sadly I didn´t get the chance to have a look at her wearing a uniform.
After I got my uniform I went shopping with my host mother and sister.
Marie: Finally, I have the time to write something :) My homestay family is really nice. I have to play a lot of  'Mensch ärgere dich nicht' ( my gift) with my guest sister. I really like my room, because it has red walls and in the morning the sun is shining into it. At moment the cat is siting in my room and  relaxes in the sun :)
I already went up to the Baldwin Street and I visited the libary. There I got my own card, so that I can rent books when ever I want. Yeserday my guest father, sister and I went to a car racing near the beach. It was really interesting, because I've never seen something like this before.
Today I will get my school uniform. I am already really excited.
I really want to go too school and meet new people. I hope that I will make some new friends.
I will write again as soon as something interesting happens.

A 21th birthday

Katy:
Yesterday me and my host family went to a 21th birthday from a friend of the family. It always is a very big party here in New Zealand because the childs aren't childs anymore. So there have been over 100 persons and over the half had been Maoris. So I had the opportunity to see a traditional party from the Maoris. They made a performens for the birthday child and sang for her. It was very great and really exiting.

Today my host sister Midori arrived from Japan. She is really nice and we spoke a lot, in spite of I can't understand her very well because of her japan accent. But it is very funny!!!

bees: hey you all now you finally hear from me. I´ve been to a lot of interesting places in the last days. First to that place from where you can see all over Dunedin, where krissy has been, too. Then to the steepest street in the world. I even walked up there. After that we wanted to go to the beaches but it was raining so we just drove along. Today I´ve been to church with my host mother and sister. We´ve met a german guy there. After lunch we drove up to the Royal Albatross Centre at Otago Peninsula with my host mother´s mother. It was great. I saw an albatross and some sea lions (I think they were sea lions). The scenery was amazing, the water had a great colour.
My host family is great. I have my own room from which I can see half of Dunedin and in my room I can´t hear my host sister cry at night. She´s lovely though her parents say she´s being naughty sometimes.
I´m excited about getting my school uniform on monday. My first day at school will be on wednesday.
Krissy: Hello. My host family is very nice, today they showed me a place, where you can see Dunedin from above. That was really amazing. But I also can see Dunedin from my house, which is big and beatiful. I have a host sister, who is 19 years old and works in an university in Dunedin. The other host sister comes from Japan and is 16 years old. She arrived yesterday and will stay here for one year. On monday I will get my school uniform and I really looking foreward to having my first day at school on wednesday.

Arrive in New Zealand

Katy:
Hello from the other site of the world:-) Yesterday we arrived here in the second largest city ot the south island: DUNEDIN. After a 35 hours long flight we landed at 6 o'clock in the evening. And in German-time at 6 o'clock in the morning. Our host families picked us up and I drived with Denise, my host mum, and Sonny, my host father to a restaurant to have dinner. There we ate fish & ships. Then we drived to our house in Glenross a quiet area of Dunedin. Today Denise showed me the city and I got my school uniform from St. Hilda's, which is the school we will go to. My host parents are really lovely persons and I love beeing here.
